Nexium 24HR 20mg works by blocking the absorption of acid in the stomach. This stops stomach acid from being able to remain in the stomach and therefore it also helps to reduce the unpleasant side effects like constipation. Once absorbed in the small intestine, the food that is taken should be swallowed. This will give you plenty of acid in your stomach. If you get constipation, take a multivitamin with it. Nexium 24HR should be taken in the morning. Do not take more than one pill in a 24 hour period.

The most common side effects are weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea, and diarrhoea. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor as soon as possible.
